In The Midst of Plenty - Strokestown

  • National Famine Museum Strokestown, RN, F42 H282 Ireland (map)

A new contemporary folk musical set against the backdrop of the plot to assassinate the landlord of the Strokestown estate in 1847, at the height of the Great Famine, “In the Midst of Plenty” opened recently to rave reviews and a three-night run of sold-out shows at the National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park. Produced by Strokestown-based Enchanted Croi Theatre, directed by Anne-Marie O’Sullivan and written by Amy Day, the show stars Ballaghadereen native Julie Sharkey and is made possible under the Roscommon County Council Local Live Performance Programming Scheme and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
