A triumph of the human spirit in Ireland’s darkest hour
Set in 19th century Ireland, at the height of the Great Famine, "In the Midst of Plenty" tells the story of Bridget Connor, a mother of four living on the hunger-stricken Strokestown estate in County Roscommon. She must make unthinkable choices and demonstrate remarkable courage as she fights to save her children from starvation, eviction, and forced emigration.
A full-scale folk musical featuring a cast of 14 actors and musicians, "In the Midst of Plenty" opened to sold-out performances and glowing reviews in the National Famine Museum at Strokestown Park and in the Roscommon Arts Centre. It is now embarking on a nationwide tour of Ireland in 2023.
